So a lot of men develop varicoceles ...they just never know because they have finished having kids. It would be worth going to a urologist and getting checked. Laser repair is easy, my husband had one...was literally up and around day 2. Takes 3-6 months for it to make a difference.
I our case my husband's numbers were terrible before and still bad after, but you are starting from a better place.

What supplements should I start him on while we wait to talk with a RE/urologist? Ubiquinol? Vitamin E?

OP here - Ugh yes I completely agree. He has had bad allergies since birth and needs to see a real ent/allergiest.

Could allergies and stress produce the round cells in his SA?

Op here - do these numbers look like something that could possibly be fixed? DH is worried that this is permanent. He pops sudafed like candy and takes flonase as well.

Tell him to quit it

I would try to have a healthier lifestyle. Stop drinking etc. They could get better. I'm the one that posted the link. Maybe I'm just analyzing that numbers based on my own experience, but I would not say that they are terrible. They actually look great compared to what I'm used to. It's nothing that ivf won't solve and maybe you won't even need ivf. Id make an appointment with a urologist and re and see what they had to say. I've had a child with much worse numbers.

They don't look so bad. Some numbers are abnormal. Nothing to panic about but follow up with an RE.

Thanks - sorry for the bad formatting!

I am really surprised with results because we already have a 2 year old and a 4 year old. I got pregnant after 2 months with both of them. We are on month 9 now trying for our 3rd and are 35 so we figured we needed to see what was going on.

I assume it is a number of factors: husband is over weight, had a high stress job, doesn’t work out enough, drinks too much and takes a lot of allergy medicine.

Would this sort of thing be reversible with changes in lifestyle? The last semen analysis we did there was 0 viable a perm but we thought it was a problem with the sample/time the analysis was done.

If I had two heallthy children already, I think I would stop trying. You will definitely need IVF with those numbers.

It’s pretty bad. An RE will usually want to get another sample from their own lab so he can have it done again. If you decide to get medical help then just go straight to IVF and Is do it with ICSI from the beginning.

Could someone help me understand this? DH had a SA done 2 months ago and it came back horrible (0 viable sperm). We thought that it was a problem with the sample given that he did it at home and they tested it 2 hours later and he didn't keep the sample warm. This time he did the sample at the office.

He just re-did it and these are his results. OB called and said these are still bad results and need to talk with a RE.

Volume (ml): 2.5
concentration x 10x6/ml: 22
% motile: 69
Progression: 2/2+
pH: 8
Viscosity: Severe
% normal morphology: 1
round cells x 10x6/ml: 0.8
Total motile sperm: 38

What does this mean?
