I will have a mixed group of kids with me and I am trying to figure out how to handle bathrooms. If it was just my kid, I’d bring him in with me. But I don’t feel comfortable having the boys go in alone and having to wait outside alone until us girls finish. I thought a family bathroom would be the solution because I can send them in one at a time.

I don't think this is an appropriate use of the family bathroom. So you can watch them go one at a time? Why can't they all go together and you watch them come out of the regular men's room? Then you all go to the women's room after they're done. Family bathrooms are for kids who need care or for disabled people needing care.

?? These are kids who need care. Personally I'd just take them all into the women's room, or send the boys a group into the men's room. But it's a totally acceptable use of the family restroom. I've found that most family restrooms are occupied by staff members who like to sit in there on their phones. I haven't seen this at the zoo, but at any mall or airport when the family restroom is occupied for 20 minutes, it's always a staff member who comes out eventually.

As long as she lets anyone disabled or with a small child cut her group in line, there's no issue. There is definitely a family stall by the newly renovated kids playground.

I do think there is a family bathroom at the bottom of the elephant enclosure. As well as men/women.

They have a family bathroom at the visitor center. It is between the other 2 bathrooms. I've used it many times. There are bathrooms by the elephants and kids zoo but I don't think they are family bathrooms...but I agree with the poster who said it doesn't really matter

My observation - the bathrooms in the visitor center in my experience are less crowded. They may have one there given the layout of the building.

Ask at the information desk there.

The two I can think of are the elephant enclosure one already mentioned and down by the children’s farm. There’s probably also one up by the Asian trail near the food court and gift shop.

I’m looking for one to use for an older opposite sex child.

Are you looking for a bathroom with a changing table? Or are you looking for a bathroom where you can take an older opposite-sex child?

There are changing tables in all of the zoo bathrooms. I believe but I am not sure that there are stand-alone accessible bathrooms in the Visitor Center and at the elephants, but I would call to make sure.

If so, where? The map on the zoo’s website doesn’t specify whether any of the restrooms are family ones and I cannot seem to find this info elsewhere.

Thanks!
