Very common at our MS - am not going to name it. Contact the MS counselor, they will help with appropriate referrals.

My 9 yo son does this sometimes. Hits himself in the head when he thinks he has failed at something. Thankfully, it’s not too often. I used to do this as a teen but outgrew it/it never escalated. Sorry; I don’t have any ideas to help.

I'm sorry. Our DD would punch a pillow when she was younger but that doesn't work anymore.

Age 7 girl. So sad that she bit herself today (visible teeth marks) when angry about an interaction with a classmate. Teacher told us to try a foam squishy thing that she can squeeze to let out anger. I bought her one and the school is also going to add some to their calm corner, which has a bean bag chair that she likes.

Do any parents have experience with this, and care to share advice, success stories. DD has hit herself when she feels she's failed in some way. She's being treated for anxiety and, her doctor knows. I'm really looking for insight from this are in or have been in a similar situation. Thanks.
