Your kids sound exactly like mine. We stay away from the very busy, social camps (bar-t) and try to do smaller ones they enjoy like art and gymnastics camps.

i'd definitely consider Code Ninjas Camps - my daughter, 4th grader, will not even look up and forget about talking. Their environment is so amazingly individualistic, she can just be herself with out getting pressured into participating in group activities, and she is always excited to go the session. She is in their regular school program, and we also registered her in their camps. I think they have 3 locations now, germantown, gaithersburg and rockville.

My kid is shy, but mid-elementary. What specifically is the kid interested in--sports, arts, etc? I'd go for a smaller, interest-based camp with a lower counselor: camper ratio.

I realize this is not activity specific, but a warm, welcoming environment is key to any camp working out. Sports, arts and crafts, nature-oriented?
