Subject: When to stop sleeping with stuffed animals?
My six-year-old sleeps with multiple stuffies. I slept with a stuffed animal through my entire childhood. I had a big stuffed bear that I basically used as a pillow.
However old your child is, he is not too old. This shouldn't even be the subject of any judgment on your part.

I slept with a stuffed animal into my 30s. My husband uses a body pillow which reminds me of a large stuffed animal although lacking the face. Nothing wrong with it. Let the kid sleep how every they want. They will stop when they are ready. And if they don't, who cares? If it helps them sleep, then why does it matter?

My 40 year old very manly dh still has one stuffed animal from childhood near the bed. It went with him to the military and everything. I like snuggling with my dds animals, somehow it's comfortable hugging a big stuffed animal when folding my arms to sleep.

DD is 7 and has about 10 stuffed animals on her bed. She also have a Gund Lion that is her lovey that she sleeps with every night. It goes everywhere with us ( for bedtime only) I will not take it away, if she wants to give it up she can do it whenever she is ready.

My 9 year old informed me he would probably stop talking to his stuffed animals when he is 11 - though they’d still be allowed to hang out on his shelf. We’ll see . My 13 year old nephew brought his beloved stuffed dog camping wth us this summer.

OP here. Thanks for the responses. I'm not trying to project stereotypes because he's a boy or take away his prized possessions. I'm just curious in comparison to others.
Thank you all!

I'm 45 and still like something like a stuffed animal or pillow to snuggle when I sleep. I am not attached to any particular one and I can travel just fine without one.
It has never affected my life.
I am wondering if you only care because your child is a boy...

Whenever the child decides. Leave it alone.

I don’t think there’s an inapproate age. My 8 and 10 year old sleep with certain things (not just stuffed animals). They dont do it for sleepovers - peer pressure. This is not a big deal.

At what age did your child stop sleeping with stuffed animals?
My son still does, and in my mind he is 'too old'.
