More importantly, how many points were they paying?

The yield curve has inverted which means we could have a recession in the next 6 months to a couple of years from now. The inverted yield curve is probably also driving down rates since they move in relation to 10 year treasuries.

We got a 3.3% fixed in 2016 for about 800K.

Same with WF in July 2016. It was a portfolio loan.

We stopped our re-mortgage as Alexandria City recently ruled a re-mortgage tax! If they had not (and we are high tax payers and more to Alexandria City) we would have pursued this. $10,000 to Alexandria City was the deal.

What bank was offering 3.25% 30yr in 2016? We got that in 2013, but I thought it hadn't happened again. That said, of course could go that low again, but only if the fed lowers rates. Just keeping them flat won't encourage banks to lower mortgage rates.

I refinanced with Amerisave and got that rate in 2016 on a VA loan with excellent credit.

I got 3.375 in 2016 for a 30 yr fixed from a lender ( Home Savings and Trust). It didn’t seem outrageously low for the time with an excellent credit score, but in hindsight I was so lucky. Probably will never get a deal like that again!

Brexit and the Japan-ification of Europe and China’s slowdown is going to make 2008 seem tame.

But we will have super cheap mortgages.

Looks like mortgage rates are falling again. I’ve got a jumbo loan at 4.25%, would love to refinance but feel like it’s only worthwhile if I can get a rate at least 3.25%. Is this a pipe dream? Anybody think rates will go that low?
