I wouldn’t do fabric because DH leans against the headboard to read and would stain the fabric.

Yes, and they’re terrible for people with allergies.

I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but I swear I think that people who make money off dopo selling furniture start these trends because they know consumers will want/need to replace it in a few years because it is filthy and too difficult to clean.

Just got one I love - Hooker Tynecastle. No spindles for those "key moments" though! This should be obvious, but don't Google "Hooker King Bed" with kids near your monitor!

We got ours at Macy's about three years ago, and we love it. I did not see the exact set when looking just now, but they have a decent selection of wood headboards that are fairly simple and modern.

We recently bought one at Ashley furniture. Surprisingly heavy/sturdy. I swore off upholstered because DHs bald head left marks.

Amish Market off Wisteria in Germantown. Beautiful, handcrafted, relatively inexpensive.

Yea, upholstered is the current trend. Have you tried Belfort? They have a wide range of choices.

Why is everything fabric now? It's SO hard to find a bed made of wood if you prefer a sleek and modern/contemporary look. It's driving me crazy. I need to replace a bed from Bo Concept (18 yrs old), and Bo Concept, Ligne Rosset, etc all seem to be leaning to fabric headboards.

It's driving me nuts.

Yes, I looked at CB2. The beds are practically on the floor, and while I don't mind that, my DH is nixxing that one. SIgh.
