DW is pregnant and needs a car. We are waiting for the new Subaru hybrids to hit the market in the next 1-2 years, so ideally we'd have something to fill the gap. I currently have an old car that she can't drive (manual transmission). She prefers AWD and something safe. We will probably only put 250-300 miles per month on the car (if that) for local errands and her short commute (6 miles roundtrip to the office each day).
Has anyone assumed another person's lease? Can you provide a review of your experience? It seems like a great option for us, as we also won't need to shell out for the lease downpayment - you just assume the existing monthly payments.
It seems like the paperwork part may be tricky. I'm also concerned about getting charged for previous (unseen?) damage on the part of the original owner.
