I wanted my kids to be thoughtful when posting so my best friend follows my kids and I follow hers.

Keeps them honest.

Also my kids grandfather follows them.

Jeez - I always accept when my kid's friends friend me. It's not a lot of kids - usually close friends of kids I have known a long time. My kids are in late HS, early college (young adults) so perhaps this makes a difference.

I don’t. I follow my kid to see what he’s posting. His friends try to friend me! So weird. I assume they are doing it to build their follower or friend numbers.

I don’t ever friend any of them. But my daughter is an elite gymnast and teammates often friend the parents of teammates. I accept those. I am also always friends with the parents. I would never initiate or friend a kid.

Absolutely not. My teenager’s IG account is private. If any adult beyond me and her grandmother requests to follow her, it is denied.

I follow some of them. I never ever comment, just like.

A couple of times they've DM'd me or I've DM'd them, but in general, we strictly stick to likes only.

I don't but my kids' friend's mother follows mine. We made my kid's account private and eliminated people we didn't want including her. I don't even want to follow my kids friends, just my own. Am I overreacting?
