If you live near a spray ground, that could be fun. I'm thinking about doing my daughter's birthday at the Lee District spray ground. You can rent the picnic pavilion if you get on it early (last year, the reservation calendar filled up before I got to it), and the spray area is gated, with an awesome playground right next to it.

We attended some fun nature center birthday parties. They've usually included a short hike/nature walk, a hands-on animal presentation, and a craft. We usually do pool parties for our daughter's summer birthday.

Obviously bc she is too good for a jumpy place.

OP again. Of course dcum can find a way to get judgy about a question for birthday party recommendations. I’m not “too good” for one of these places. It’s that we are at them all the time and I was hoping someone on here had another fun idea so we can mix things up.

NP with a baby, so I can't really help you OP, but as a spectator of this board I just needed to say these bitches on here are something else. Post after post bemoaning the birthday party circuit, and yet when OP is trying to add some variety to the mix all she gets is a hard time about it. Sheesh.

Op here. This sounds like a cute idea! I’m trying to avoid hosting at our house this year though because the set up and cleanup is too much of a hassle this year with a baby at home now.

OP here, I’ve found most venues run at least $300ish. Then by the time you add in food, you’ve spent another $200. Plus some decorations and plates. $700-800 would be max. I’d love to spend less.

We have a lot of local family plus friends so we always end up with 40-50 people. I’m trying to keep it closer to 35 this year. Even with home birthday parties we can spend a lot on getting a moon bounce, grilling burgers, etc.

We don’t host a lot of other events during the year so why do you care if we want to spend this much entertaining friends and family?

Sqeals on wheels petting zoo at your house (yard actually). You could do this cake and lunch. Won’t run you $800.

Your house? Rent a moonbounce or water slide if its hot. Weve done this and then also had a sandbox sand table and water table out too.

We’re trying to come up with ideas for an early summer birthday party for our soon to be 4 y/o boy.

Our spring calendar is already getting filled with parties at various indoor play places, jumping places, etc. These are obviously fun, but I’d love to come up with something different for a change of scenery. What are some fun/creative kids’party venues in close-in Nova or DC? (Or possibly Bethesda).

Need a place that can hold 35 people or so. Would like to spend under $700-800ish including food.

TIA!
