People who used to be "Subaru folks" are now becoming "Audi folks." It's a status thing.
My friend who lives in Boulder, CO told me last year: "5 years ago, this was a Subaru town. It's now an Audi town. That's when we know things had changed a lot."
He likes that his home has appreciated 35% in two years. But its definitely brought in a new class of people (wealthier, high maintenance, not as a crunchy as the lower income folks getting pushed out)

Had an A6 and it had problems the minute we left the mechanic. Don't think they fixed anything. DH was too high to notice that they didn't fix the electric windows.
I got a used Mazda3 and have been driving it for 11 years. The biatch Audi also died on me couple of times in the middle of the street.

I have no idea what the appeal is, though their SUV's do look nice. The S line is fast, but the sedan are glorified Japanese cars and sound like their tinny engines too.
The company was founded in 1899, hardly glorified Japanese cars. I had a Q7 for years and never had any issues with it--although the are expensive to maintain.
Personally I'd never buy any American car-talk about POS.

Audi has been a top brand for 30 years.
What? No. They had all those issues in the 80’s and almost pulled out of the US market in 1993. Lexus was the hot non-Mercedes/BMW luxury car of my childhood. Now all my neighbors have an Audi and very few have Lexus.
