What's the question???
Is 3v3 "worth doing or is it a waste of time and money"?
It is cheap and fun. A lot of top notch area players do the tourneys in the summer. So do a lot of weaker teams. The small number of teams and wide gaps in talent make for very uneven competition (at least in local tourneys). We have seen the same kids the past few summers and then see them again in area club tourneys and the kids definitely get to know each other. But I would not oversell it and would make sure your kids are in the proper brackets and practice together beforehand. There is definitely a distinct approach most good teams take, so I would suggest watching some Disney tourney finals to see how teams position their players offensively and defensively.
