OP here. Interesting. The Volvo “feels” bigger to me. I don’t dislike the MDX I just feel like I’d need a car magnet or vanity plate to find it in the sea of MDX’s around.

No, I drive a Mercedes, but OP is looking for a used car, and she's going to pay a lot of money for it. So, I assume she would want it to work for more than 6 years from the manufacture date.

Love our certified Xc 90. Was in the 40s and bought extended warranty. Covered for next 8 years

If you want to own the car a long time without risking expensive issues then I'd look at the Lexus GX or Toyota Highlander. I would say MDX too but my understanding is they've had transmission issues.

I have nothing against European cars (I have a "DCUM favorite" myself) but you do have to pay to play. Either 1) lease, 2) buy CPO (which isn't much cheaper than leasing), or 3) buy older and set money aside for all the stupid stuff that breaks and costs a lot to fix.

Second row leg room is fine but an adult cannot fit in the 3rd row.
