I completely ignore solicitations no matter who they are from.

Why on earth are supposed adults unable to say “I’m not really interested but thanks for thinking of me!” Without crowdsourcing it?!?

Do you buy things from all of your friends companies? No. MLMs prey on the fact that people feel bad not buying stuff that they don’t even want.

Yes, the very premise of MLMs is to leverage the guilt of your friends and family to get them to buy your crap. That's why it's mostly women doing it... soliciting to other women because we don't want to be perceived as "mean." So to be "nice" we get sucked into it. It's predatory. And then it's all spun as "empowerment"... "Girl Boss" and all that crap. As if.

Which one do you sell for?

NP. If trashing the environment and depleting my own funds by buying crap I don't want or need to enable someone to live in a fantasy world with a not-real-job is "helping other women," then let me very proudly state that I don't want to help other women.

What? I'm not bashing her. I'm just not interested in buying her random diet shake.

Don't you just love it when you hear from an old friend or long lost cousin and then get all happy... and then find out they're only reaching out to you to try to sell you their MLM crap? Every MLM "friend" is out for the same thing... for you to part with your money. It's so disheartening and annoying.

With a request like that - so vague that it put you in a weird position - I would be tempted to ignore. Or be direct and ask “about what”. Then when she admits it is on MLM, say sorry, I am not interested.

An old friend who I haven't talked to in a while just reached out asking if she could send me info about something. She has been posting constantly about her new MLM on social media so I am 100% sure that is what she wants to send. How do I nicely respond but say no? I don't want to be rude and am open to being friends but have absolutely no interest in this scheme.
