I don't know if she did anything specifically with the baby's remains, but when my DW lost our daugther at 17 weeks, we had her cremated. We kept the ashes - still have them - but there are people who take the ashes and turn them into jewelry. I bought my wife an engraved necklace with a quote that was significant to our daughter, along with a separate piece that had our daughter's and our living son's birthstones. The march of dimes march for babies is coming up - she could sign up for that in honor of her baby.

Those are just a few things that come to mind.
