That is the weird thing! I’m 37.

I had my kids at 27, 30, and 33.

I guess that’s why I am surprised that I am still not on the young end for DC3

A LOT of them are now 33-34?? It’s not a huge deal but I’m just not used to it

And fwiw I didn’t think my friends IRL want to hear about this. And apparently neither do some on DCUm but feel free to read other threads that interest you more!

I'm 35 and having #3, after having #1 at 28, so I feel you. I still think of myself as a younger mom but realize that when DC3 is in elementary school, I won't. If only I also felt wiser now

That does surprise me then. I'll be 33 when I have my 2nd this year and it didn't even occur to me that I might feel "old". Are you in the suburbs? In the city, at 32 with a 2 yo right now, I feel very young compared to my peers.

I bet this is mostly in your head though. Some of my DD1s parents are around 37 and I don't really think of them as much older than me.

You feel old because other moms are 3-4 years younger than you? How can you even tell with that small an age difference?

This. How many inane topics do you start on here, OP? Try to make some friends so you have an outlet to air your insecurities.

Well yeah, did you think you wouldn’t age?

I’ve had this thought with my youngest.

My conclusion is...oh well.

It is just the cohorts that are most likely together.

Ex: most moms to preschoolers have a baby in tow/are pregnant.
Most moms to 4th graders, not so much.

I have 3 kids - ages 9, 7, and 4. The way their bdays fall - they all going to be 3 grades apart. Right now - 4th, 1st, and preschool 3.

With DC1 I’m one of the youngest parents. Now with DC3 I’m one of the older parents. Last year in DC3’s preschool class there were 7 kids and 5 of the moms were pregnant with #2

Feels weird to be the old one
