Poolesville, Blair, Magruder, Wheaton up a level

WJ (only to keep levels even), Sherwood, Damacus, Blake down one level.

I don’t know about the other schools but I’m very please with Einstein.

Tier 2
Wootton
Poolesville
QO
Sherwood

Tier 3
Damascus
RM
Blair
Clarksburg

Tier 4
Northwest
Magruder
Rockville
Blake

Tier 5
All other schools.

I would send my kids to any school in tiers 1-3. We need more posts like this!!!

This is a list of schools based on SES. That's it, and has nothing to do with quality of the teachers or programs at the school.

And why would QO and Sherwood be ranked higher than RM?

SES, you say?

Sherwood has 15% FARMs; RM has about 19%. QO has a higher number - around 21%.

Poolesville is 75% magnet.

Do you even live in Mo Co?

You don’t want to do this. You’ll end up like the folks in the private school forum debating what’s the top 3 and what are the top 5 schools ad infinitum.

Most kids would do about the same in most of the schools. The list is meaningless and is nothing more than a reflection of SES than anything else.

School quality is directly related to wealth of the neighborhood, as long as most children living there go to public.

So just go by real estate prices, OP

Give it up, OP, it’s already been done for you. We get it, people don’t want to go to school with kids who aren’t rich, with kids who are black or brown. You’re not clever. White people have thought of segregation before: https://ggwash.org/view/31601/de-facto-segregation-threatens-montgomery-public-schools

Curious about this since everyone thinks about different schools differently. If there was a chart with 5 different tiers, 1 being the best 5 being the worst, where would you put every MCPS high school? Everyone has a different opinion and I'm honestly so curious!
