Ha, this. I wouldn’t do it, but to each her own. Maybe trade off baby duty with your spouse or friend? Hire a sitter so you can be at the beach sans baby? I never had fun with kids at the beach until they were at least 2.5.

Invest in a large parachute silk beach blanket with sand pockets. Babies eat sand so you want to have a large-ish sandproof barrier to keep them contained. And you'll use this for years. They fold up to the size of a large can of beans and weigh less than half a pound, so they are a snap to tuck into a beach bag.

You'll want shade. And lots of patience for how much time will be spent indoors instead of on the beach.

The power/cornstarch tip is great for little ones too. Helps the sand slide right off.

Maybe your babies didn't like to swim, but my DD loved to swim at 6 months old. Ocean might be cold but op is going to be at hotel which most likely has a pool. And sitting up has no effect on pool/ beach enjoyment...you can you know, hold your baby.

One of those hyperportable cribs with the mesh sides that zip up. Great for sleeping in, also good for shade

Sunscreen (love that Australian brand) a hat, a little beach tent if you have one, and a float.

It may seem like defeating the purpose, but you might buy an inflatable baby bathtub that you can put ocean water in so baby can splash around underneath the shade of an umbrella and not be out in the ocean. I bought one on Amazon for $10. As a bonus we would use it in hotel rooms when we traveled to bathe the baby.

Everything you use at home, because if it’s at all like when I took my 5 month old to the beach, you will mostly be indoors anyway. Which was fine! It was still a lovely vacation! But we weren’t at the beach or pool all that much.

I don’t want to overpack but it’s better than underpacking and making unnesssary trip to the store.
What do I need for certain to help the beach go smoothly?
