For us the price was the same and we’re really glad we chose Invisalign.

Why?

+1 Invisalign is a good option for some issues but traditional braces are better for others so it would be a red flag to me if they stopped offering traditional braces. My orthodontist often does hybrid treatments with part Invisalign and part braces.

Yup.

But they are using traditional braces for phase 1. So this practice is already doing a hybrid.

Going forward, they are not. Unless you are OP and you misspoke earlier.

The OP says they’re only going to be doing Invisalign for phase 2. It doesn’t say they’re only doing it for phase 1. That implies they’re not getting rid of traditional braces for phase 1, which means hybrid.

Yes, to me this makes it sound like they're not as competent.

Invisalign was only $300 more at our orthodontist. I wonder what op's dr does if the kid is not compliant? Usually they switch to metal. And what about rotations? I thought invisalign couldn't do rotations.

DD will be needing phase 2 of her orthodontic care in about a year. I was just informed by the orthodontist that their practice is phasing out regular braces, and will only do invisalign for phase 2. I did not know this when we started phase 1 with this practice about 2 years ago. Should I be concerned? A friend told me that her daughter got regular braces because the specific situation of her teeth meant that regular braces were better than invisalign. Should I switch to a practice that offers both? I am happy with the practice overall. I am just bummed that they will only do Invisalign for phase 2.
