Who buys someone a car without asking first? Does he think everybody would like that car?
You better drive it now and lets hope he pays for the upkeep.

If someone offered me a free Mercedes Benz, I would be careful that the car is an unconditional gift.

No strings attached.

Keep it. Are they paying for college for your kids too?

Absolutely. Very thoughtful.

Who’s going to pay the taxes and insurance? That’s going to be way more than what you pay for a 2012 Camry.

Yes, what does DH think?

Other than the fact it is expensive, do you like it? Your current car is about 7 years old. If you like the car and your ILs, accept it and sell your car to pay for the Mercedes maintenance. They are beautiful cars.

If you don’t want it, I’ll take it!

Are you worried that the car comes with strings attached, or that an expensive car will change how people look at you?

The flip side is DH lacks ambition and drive, his parents provide all he needs or wants. That is bad.

Can he afford it? Yes.
This is his gift to you. Just accept it and enjoy that beautiful car.

I would not accept the gift of a car from anybody. That's just me..

My father in-law just bought two brand new 2019 Mercedes GLE class, one for my sister in-law and one for me as a gift. He also bought my husband a new car last year. He said that he thinks of me like his own daughter and he has a lot of money. The most expensive car I ever had is my current 2012 Toyota Camry. I am very touch by it but I think it is ridiculous to drive a car that expensive. Should I tell him how I feel or just keep my mouth shut and accept the new car?
