I think it's fine, but you're definitely paying for the name. Althought I definitely understand the 3-1 issue, the jacket you posted doesn't appear any warmer or less prone to being grown out of than this coat (which is also not 3 in 1):

Face it, OP. You want to buy them Patagonia. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's probably not a good deal.
