OP, you texted her at 7:45am when presumably she was just getting up or getting ready for the day? I'd expect her to reply with a "hope he feels betters soon" or something but not necessarily right away. If you don't get a reply by lunchtime than just call or text again to confirm she got your message.

Yeah, I don’t want her to feel pressure. I texted her an offer to pay her fee and an apology. We never went over this before.

Maybe she's not glued to her phone and hasn't seen it yet

I didn’t know. It’s why I asked here, and my focus wasn’t there because he’s pretty sick. Its not easy when you don’t know.

We scheduled a babysitter for three year old son tonight; she’s mid-30s and finishing a Masters and highly recommended. She sat once before and was nice if a little formal, no biggie. DS woke up with a 103 fever so I texted the sitter to cancel tonight - dinner was for DH’s friends birthday so he can go. It’s been two hours and I haven’t heard from sitter but I was wondering, am I somehow ride for canceling? I wouldn’t think a sitter would sit for a relatively new client with a kid with high fever, am I wrong? We have had nearby family babysit every time before last.
