So being up at 4am with a fever, means you have to wait until the child's fever goes away (WITHOUT TYLENOL). And no way was that fever "gone, poof!" at 4:30am.

And if you give tylenol, etc. to get rid of the fever, then you start the clock about 6 hours after giving the meds because any sooner than that is the medication keeping the fever down.

Absolutely not. No ma’am.

I would say a Tylenol at 4 am that wears of in 4-6 hours. If no fever for the whole rest of the day...eating and playing normally. I would sent to school at 8:30 the next morning.

Fever-free without meds for 24 hours. It is SO common for a kid's temp to be lower in the morning and climb throughout the day, so not only is your kid probably still contagious, but you'll have to pick him up in the afternoon and he'll have to stay home the next day. Better to give him the extra day to rest and fully recover.

Please keep your sick child home. If they had a fever today, they stay home again tomorrow.

No. Fever free for 24 hours. That means 24 hours from when the fever broke. What is his temp now?

4 year old woke up late last night with fever.’ Stayed home today, and ped found no reason to test for flu - no pain or congestion. If fever continues to drop and is gone by breakfast tomorrow is it ok to send to school tomorrow?
