Tropical Lagoon (name?) on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring was very helpful to us. Plus, their fish don’t have ick, unlike the fish we got at Petco.

Go to ReefCentral.com - any question you could have has been asked, answered, debated, etc. in their excellent forums.

Aquariums are great! Don't be intimidated by saltwater, it's easier than it sounds.

These are several fish clubs in the area. Check out the big fish deal for this club this weekend - the marketplace on Sunday is a good place to start. The members love to share their expertise.

I don't have any specific experience with fish, but I've started using Reddit as a resource for all sorts of things--the communities there seem to be very supportive and helpful. I bet there's a fish or aquarium subreddit with useful information and people--if you look on a computer instead of your phone they often have guides/resources posted.
