OP:

Don't be deterred by those saying DCUM is full of agendas anytime someone gives an honest criticism.I have seen the previous posters before send the same message (sock puppets) and they work at the clubs and monitor these forums.Well known fact.I would say take things with a grain of salt but use posts as a stepping stone to where to investigate more. The whole smoke and fire thing.I think your question will start a food fight but maybe give you a few names. We have boys.

Your daughter should see for herself what the practices, players and coaches are like, and she should see what she likes best. You could also attend practice, see these things for yourself, experience the commute times to/from the clubs, and talk to some parents at those practices to get their thoughts. You could also attend a game or two as the seasons kick off in the next few weeks.

All of the above would give you much better answers to your questions than an anonymous message board. You should keep in mind that all of the ECNL and DA teams have their own pros and cons, and there are threads on every club in the area on this site. If you read enough on this site, then you will read many negative posts, and some positive posts, about every single club in the DMV, whether travel or rec, as well as parents' negative, and some positive, comments about every single league those clubs play in. There is some good information to be gleaned from some of these posts, but you have to be aware of posters with negative agendas about certain clubs and take many of the posts with a grain of salt.

If you are serious, then good luck to you and your daughter as you explore her options. If you are not serious, then break out the popcorn and have fun reading this thread over the next week or so.

OP here. This is helpful but as stated, DD already has offers at several ECNL and DA clubs, so she has gone to ID sessions and practiced with several clubs. What I am looking for is views from parents with experience. If you have thought on a specific club. team or coach, please share.

I am assuming your daughter is an 06. If you have received offers to play for FCV Arlington or VDA that is impressive. Be aware though these are three strong teams and an offer to play doesn’t mean you will start or see much playing time. If you are alright playing for a team that is not as strong consider chosing one of the other options.

What you have been told is about as much actual honest sane advice you are going to get here. Nothing more will be shared because it will just end up a troll fest. Understand this and please do not press for anything more. Good luck, but you are on your own with this.

It is best to reach out IN PERSON to people who are at your top choice clubs. It is better to just have a conversation than try and pane for gold here.

After having read the top threads here for some time, couldn't agree more with all of the advice above. There seem to be a few poison pills here who muddy the elite club waters. Best to do your homework off this site.

Distance to practice fields would be my primary concern as a rising U14 once you are at the DA/ECNL level.

I agree with the above. I also have found it helpful to check various clubs' lists of college commitments and (more for boys) development of pros.

I would love to hear any suggestions on who the top coaches are for U13-u15 and then u16 and higher.

This won't end well.
