Op here. I think she would have to come twice a year but I am not 100 percent sure. I don’t think his mother would live in the US without the rest of the family. They have a nice house in my husbands country ( Napal). Health care is also significantly less expensive in Nepal. I did not know it takes so long for the siblings to get a green card. His sister is 30. I am not sure if she’s planning to get married. If she does marry soon I don’t think she could come to the US.

Op never said that. Someone earlier said they cannot sponsor siblings. That’s not true.

This is not true. Parents have a higher preference in getting the green card but siblings are absolutely allowed to be sponsored. They will be put on a longer waiting list.

Are you a different race than your South Asian husband? You should divorce him. Living with 5 extra people will be a marriage breaker.


Yes I am white. I don’t think it would be 5 people but who knows. If it’s true that only his mother can be sponsored then I have nothing to worry about. I don’t think she will move without the other siblings. I know his brothers wife and child would have to wait until his brother could sponsor them.

Op here. We do not support trump. My husband said only his immediate family can be sponsored and it would take 10 years most likely. Does it vary depending on which country you’re from?
