It's really hard when you don't have family.

+1 - I posted earlier but I agree with PP about problem solving. I am so sorry you have no one to help you. My parents are dead and I feel lost and alone when things get hard. I am sorry you are going through this.

Dont give up hope. Utilities will cut you some slack too, but you have to let them know you are struggling. There's food assistance out there too. Do you attend a place of worship? They might be able to help as well.

I'm so sorry you are struggling, I will pray for you and your child. Try not to give up hope!

Food can be found at food pantries. Clothes at Goodwill.

All my credit cards have had offers on their websites for those impacted and need some help with not getting super behind on payments. Even just picking up the phone and speaking yo someone can help delay penalties and fees.

And at least it's over. It sucks if you had to deplete your savings during that time, but at least the money is coming back in.

Plenty of people directly impacted by the shutdown who aren't getting backpay (contractors, small local businesses etc).

Do you need a home?

Are you a victim of abuse?

Are you in Montgomery County Maryland? You could call the family justice center for help https://www.mcfjcfoundation.org/.
