And there's going to be mold eventually unless the school did real and serious measures to mitigate it and dry out everything quickly. Remember that UMD had to move students out of a dorm for a time due to horrible mold problems; Georgetown is going to have similar issues down the road wherever there was all this water.

Would like to hear from students or parents directly affected by the flooding. Wonder how it was handled and if it really was cleaned up and dried out. If they didn't use the large industrial fans plus mold inhibitor treatment--students will be getting sick later.

I found the rodent pictures even more disgusting. Yes, wherever there are people there are rodents but you can control them -- IF you invest in doing so.

Yeah, we looked at Georgetown and while we didn't have access to these visuals on our tour, DD did not like the campus or the idea of being so close to home. So thankful we did not waste time on their application.

This is really sad. Scratching Georgetown off our list.

What is the appeal of Georgetown, aside from students for whom being DC is an advantage? (Eg SFS students). I mean, I just can’t imagine paying SO much money for a say, bio or business or English or psych major to go to a school that’s this ...ratchet. Why??

By the way, my DD was 17 until Dec 13th her freshman year. So yes, still a kid.

Jesuits have many strengths, but administration isn't one of them. My DD is applying for med school and Georgetown is known to be the most idiosyncratic school with regard to the admissions process, meaning it is completely unpredictable with respect to timing of information.

My DD went months without hearing from them and then started calling them to check on status. After about 15 tries she finally got someone and then got an interview invitation within days. We are pretty sure they lost track of her application and wouldn't have found it if she hadn't called.

Georgetown has been on the decline for years. This is nothing new
