Last time I went and did not take the shuttle I found a spot an a row of meters right next to building. It may have been on F Street.

Spot hero will show you options, how far from KC and how much. You chose the location/price you are willing to walk/pay. We parked at the Watergate for Hamilton for $8!

The KC garage prepaid is only $23ish and so so easy. Why go through a big hassle to save $10? Just pack your lunch a couple times instead.

There's a Watergate parking garage across the street from the KC parking entrance. I think it's ~$15 or so.

Agree. Look at parking apps and make reservation. Often deals under $10.
