I had a literal phase defect treated with progesterone but never had cramping. Is there bleeding along with the cramping?

I’m on progesterone to help with a luteal phase defect but here I am at only a few days post ovulation the cramping has begun, signaling that I’m already out yet again. The doctors just blow this off as part of aging.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why I start cramping so early in the cycle? Now this will go on and off until my period starts. In a natural cycle you would implant around 9dpo and then if it didn’t work you would start shedding the lining and cramping. Seems like in my case there’s no chance for an egg to implant. I have not had extensive tests or medications at this point. Just looking for some insight. Thanks.
