If you've been blocked by someone on instagram: if you are logged into your account you won't able to find them anymore in a search. Or, if you're opening instagram in a browser, the url for their page will show as "page not found." If you want to know if you're blocked, open their page in a private browser. If it exists in that case, you've been blocked.

Not sure about Instagram as I don’t use it much. But on Facebook, no, they would not see your comments anywhere. Your profile wouldn’t come up in search results and they’d be removed from your friend list. However, if you commented and someone replied to you, they would be able to see that reply, and probably deduce that you had blocked them.

Not on Facebook. They will see the comment count but only unblocked texts will be visible to them.
