Great access to excellent public/Private schools. I see lots of kids hanging out in the village. I believe there is a pool you can go to. Everything comes around again.

When I graduated high school (25 years ago.. yikes!) there were a fair amount of kids/families there, because I went to school with them. I think there's now a lot of empty nesters, and also the younger families just arent' drawn to Avenel. I think it's nice myself, but too far from stuff for our liking so we bought closer in to Bethesda.

They're extremely outdated and the 24/7 airplane noise problem keeps getting worse.

I was at the park the other evening, and there was like an encampment of RVs and cars there — is there a transient neighborhood squatting there?

High fees, homes of early 90s fugly design, no kids.

High fees, snobby people. Just not the lifestyle people want anymore. It's worth something but not what the inhabits think.

It’s just out of fashion now - full of people in their 60s and 70s and not very diverse. Everyone is like Daniel Snyder, except older and with less money.

I've been looking at homes in Avenel. The neighborhood looks beautiful and it's in good school districts. But I've noticed that a lot of the houses are sitting on the market for a year or more, and selling at steep discounts to asking and well below what they sold for 10-15 years ago. This is making me wonder if there's something wrong with the neighborhood. Any information?
