Its been a while since my kids went there but we loved the focus on nature and the outdoors. Its a huge part of the experience. They only stay inside when the weather is dangerous -thunder/lightening, blizzard etc. When my older child started public school she was jealous that they had indoor recess all the time while her younger sibling got to play outside everyday.

If you think your kid can't grow a strong body and will with less than 90 minutes of outdoor a day, you're better off homeschooling for the next 15 years.

DC used to go to the Goddard school Gaithersburg, their playgrounds (one for infant/toddler, one for 3-5) are small, very limited outside time because of the rotation, 15 mins per session i believe.

That's tough to find because all the classes and age groups have to rotate through the same playground. Really, you're looking for a specialty daycare like Audubon or the crunchy one where no one vaxxes their kids (the name is escaping me... it's a national thing...).

We are at the Goddard School in Gaithersburg. They have 2 playgrounds -- one for kids 3 and under and one for the 3-5 year olds. I know they have at least 2 playground sessions every day, weather permitting. They also have a large indoor gym, so the kids can get structured and unstructured physical activity every day, even if the weather is bad.

We are looking for a daycare in Gaithersburg/Rockville/North Potomac, MD. I have contacted several daycares. The curriculum these daycares showed to us cover language and literacy, math, science, social emotional, etc. , which is good, but not good enough. Most of the daycares have only one 30-minute' (or even 20-minute) for outdoor activities, a few have 2*30-minute's outdoor activities. Their playgrounds are small. What we are looking for is a daycare where my son can have enough outdoor activities each day to grow a strong body and will. The daycare we like does not have to be academically strong. I want to find a daycare which can provide enough outdoor space, 30-minute structrued outdoor activities and at least 1 hour unstructured outdoor activities. If you know such a daycare in this area, please share the information. We appreciate.
