It really only does take one! And you've got a good one! I was the PP that had the exact same egg and fertilization #s as you. I got pregnant with my daughter after a fresh transfer of 2 embryos. A following FET transfer of two resulted in a miscarriage (blighted ovum). Hopefully this PGS embryo will get you that child and having had your embryos tested, you will have prevented yourself the future headache of having a potential miscarriage. Fingers crossed and best of luck!

It only takes one - you should be very pleased with those results.

Two normal is a good result OP! You definitely have a shot.

OP here. I got my Day 6 report yesterday - 5 made it to blast and were biopsied and frozen. I'm pleased with that result - crossing my fingers for 3 normals, though I know it could be less.

PP - Just really spend some time thinking about whether you're good with 1 and how you'd feel not having the option for a second. If your transfer is successful, it would likely be extremely difficult to have a second using your own eggs. Lots of people are fine with 1, of course, but if you've thought you wanted more, you may be surprised how you feel esp after having your first (and remember that there will be hormones involved). If I even thought I might want 2, I'd do another cycle now. (FYI - I wanted 2 and did 8 cycles at 42. I didn't do IVF for my first at 40, but still would have been nice if I'd had the foresight to freeze eggs or something). Good luck!

One is all it takes. If you fine with just one child, just go for it.

I agree with your RE's prediction. I had four eggs, 3 blasts, one PGS normal and he is sleeping in his bassinet as I type - and I was much older, 39. I remember crying in post-op after the retrieval and my doc consoling me because I got fewer eggs than we were hoping for. It all worked out in the end. Good luck! I think you will be pleased with the outcome.

I had the exact same numbers and ended up with 4 blasts. Got pregnant with my first transfer. With that high of a fertilization rate, I'd hope you'd have at least one PGS embryo (and it only takes one!).

I bet you'll do great! I was 40 with six fertilized eggs; three made it and were transferred resulting in one beautiful daughter. Good luck!

I had my first egg retrieval on Wednesday and had 11 eggs retrieved, 8 mature, and 7 fertilized. When I started this whole process, my RE predicted I'd get 3 blasts and 2 would be PGS normal, and I guess it seems like on track for that but I know that anything could happen. But how do those numbers sound to you?

I'm 35, okay numbers. I'm single, so I never tried with a partner, but 5 IUIs were all negative (the timing was screwy on 2-3 of them; 2 were medicated with Clomid, but I only had one follicle with one of those cycles). So I'm hoping my base level fertility is not terrible.
