Car dealerships pay a lot of attention to the reviews. I am sure he did get in trouble with his boss. Has he subsequently provided you with the information you need? If not, then call the sales manager.

You give bad service you get bad reviews. Provided you were fair and 100% truthful in your description of what happened I wouldn't sweat it. Just ignore the email and if he doesn't leave you alone - then forward the email to the head of the dealership and CALL him/her to tell them you don't want to be harassed.

Don’t worry about this. The salesman got the review he deserved and earned. Thank you for posting an honest review!

You did nothing wrong OP. He got himself in trouble by not following through. His email doesn't work is bull, he just doesn't bother with it.

Definitely reach out to the sales manager. And FYI you can change how your name posts in your reviews through your google account. I would not want to post my full name online.

He was unprofessional, OP.

I would call and ask to speak to the sales manager. Lack of response but then he gets in touch when he sees a bad review? Too bad for him. It's not your problem his email "did not work."

I was expecting him to follow through with what he said he'd do, and if he wouldn't do it on it own, I'll prompt it with changing the Google review so other peop,e can known that customer service ends when he paperwork is signed regardless of what they tell you before hand.

I didn't name the salesman, but in Google reviews your name shows up.

Was he named in the review? Or does the review show your full name so that they could link it back to the salesman? If there’s a way to identify him he absolutely would get in trouble with his manager. But that doesn’t mean you should change your review.

Can you forward the email exchange to the sales manager and have him resolve the issue?

I bought a 2017 minivan last month as a certified used vehicle from a dealership that sells mostly new but also used cars. Most of the transaction was taken care of online so when I had a question two days after the sale, I emailed. I didn't get a response and after a month I sent a message through the dealership website. The original salesman I dealt with responded and said he'd get the information I needed and give me an answer the following day. Five days later he hadn't gotten back to me so I replied to his email and got no response. Two days aftet that I updated the Google review they asked me to write on the day of sale and dropped it from five stars to three and explainec why. That was yesterday. Tonight I got an email from him saying his email doesn't work and he saw my Google review and it got him in big trouble with his manager.

First, how is it my fault that his email doesn't work (not sure I even believe that) and second, why is it my fault he got in trouble for telling the truth? He didn't do or say anything in his email to make me want to rescind it.

Is this something a salesman would actually get in trouble for and is that my problem? I caught him in a couple of lies the day I test drove so I'm not particularly sympathetic in the first place. Is it just me or was his email to me kind of weird? This is my first car in eight years of not owning one so maybe I'm out of touch with the whole culture or whatever.
