Why so hostile? It was simply a question of what do about deferrals, whether or not there are other RD acceptances is not relevant to the topic at hand.
I don't think they will know if she is anything like me when reviewing her app but thanks for your insight and well wishes.

Some of these replies are oddly hostile, but anyway, here is my experience. My DS was deferred EA to his first choice school and then WL’d. He stayed in contact with the admissions rep from the school and reiterate that it was his first choice and update him on how he was spending his Senior year. He sent another note after getting the WL notification. He got a call the day after deposits were due and was offered a spot off the WL. I am sure his college counselor also reiterated his interest in the school. All of this is a crap shoot but there is no harm in occasional, polite reminders of your interest.

You need to figure out if the school uses EA deferral as a way to "soft deny" applicants (Harvard, Yale, Princeton) or if your DD actually has a chance to be admitted (Stanford).

If she has a chance, then one strategy is to try to figure out what they liked about the application and show another side. For example, if the strength of the app was science, then pick a poem or a novel and show how it inspired her.

Student should write a letter reiterating her interest IF something significant has happened since she submitted her application -- a big award, working on an independent project on xyz. They will already have the mid-year grades, and another rec letter probably won't be welcome.

Don't embellish -- but if there is something that the admissions officer wouldn't know otherwise, your kid can bring it to their attention.

A lot of times they just want to see first semester grades. If they're good then hopefully she'll get in RD.

Google to see if the school uses inters before sending emails. If the don’t, it might annoy them.

It's January 16, too late for rolling admissions.

Choose one and write saying she would commit to them, if offered a spot. Has to be true, however.

Also look at where else she has applied, I'm assuming she has made more than 2 applications overall?

And if not, look at colleges with rolling admissions.

DD has had two of her EA applications deferred to RD. Any suggestions on what she can do to increase her chances in the RD cycle?
Should she e-mail her admissions rep and express that she is still interested?
First semester grades will be sent and she is doing well so hopefully that will help.
