Prince Charles was having an affair while engaged to marry Harry's mom! He maintained the affair throughout the marriage. He married the other woman after Diana's death. Can you imagine how it must feel for Andrew and Harry to know their father is married to the woman who turned their mother's life into a living hell? And they have to be nice to her? Both Meaghan and Harry were raised in dysfunctional families. They both have had to fight through the dysfunction. As to whether Meaghan is a narcissist it's hard to tell in this early times. I recall reading somewhere that she walked out on her first husband without even an explanation on why she was leaving. If her father mortgaged himself to put her through college, she should at least give him a nod for loving and supporting her. Yeah, yeah, he should learn to keep his big mouth shut, but to me it looks like he tried to be a good dad. I think she's pushed him away because he's an embarrassment to her. But who knows?

I feel deep sympathy for her, she comes from a family that's obviously dysfunctional and doesn't care about dragging her down repeatedly. They haven't hesitated to say negative things about her to the international press who turn around and blast their comments on headlines around the world. Apparently her pregnancy isn't slowing them down all that much either. That family would do this to her says a lot.

But what PPs wrote - yes, she's obviously been affected by the dysfunction. She's probably destructive too. Despite her hard work to maintain her image, she hasn't been able to tamp down all the leaks that we've seen from her own behavior patterns.

Narcs are created in one of two ways: They are overly indulged to the point of entitlement, which gets worse as they age, or they are 'broken" at a young age from neglect or severe abuse. In either situation, they create another persona that makes them appear to be perfect on the outside. In reality, their world is very small and very controlled. And anyone who doesn't fit into that small world is thrown out.

Harry, based on what I've read, is very protective of her, which is what a narc wants - someone who will be a servant.

I don't think the marriage will last, or if it does, it's only bc Harry is the textbook image of a co-narc.

I dunno. A staff member that didn't notice a big honking price tag hanging off of one of my outfits might need to be relieved of their duty. Meghan needs to be able to trust her staff members.

I think that Meghan has overcome a lot in her life, including some dysfunction in her family growing up. She has learned to put distance between herself and the people who bring her down - not because she's cold but as a way of survival. She wouldn't have gotten where she is today if she had allowed herself to get pulled into the mire.

She and Harry clearly love each. I think that a palace insider is telling tales because the tabloids are paying for dirt.

What about all the help quitting because of her refusal to follow the royal protocol? There were also all these articles claiming she was a famous American actress. They were most likely written by her campaign. FWIW, our office has had a subscription to People magazine for about a decade. Not once do we remember reading anything about her until she started dating Harry.

I do think the leaks are coming from inside and my bet is William and Kate’s camp. This info isn’t coming directly from them or being ordered by them, but it started after the successful Australian tour when Harry and Meghan were getting many great headlines and Meghan was being revered for her Grenfell cookbook. I think the queen likely wants to see William and Kate held in the most positive light with the public, since he is the future king. The survival of the monarchy really depends on his popularity, Harry and Meghan are pretty inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.

How much of the bad press toward Duchess Meghan do you think is true? I get a sneaky suspicion that there is someone inside the palace leaking bad information that is purposely trying to make Meghan look bad.
