The wife most likely was having an affair and thinks she is "in love." The AP and wife deserve each other. I hope there are no kids involved. She needs to take a Time Out and focus on her life instead of talking crap about the STBXH.

Agreed. From experience my friend has been separated for 4 months and she just told me she is "in love" with her AP. Shock and WTF are you talking about. With know the STBXH and they have kids, unsure what is going on but I know she needs to take care time with this relationship because the AP is also married and is now getting a divorce. This is like Jerry Springer and the lots of moving pieces when kids are involved. I will be there to listen but what a mistake.

Empathy for Laura, who is clearly hurting AND honest advice to slow it down with the new guy. Even if he's the love of her life, she need to take it slow for her kids.

They separated offically 5 months ago

And Larla is now in love. The safe bet is that Larla was doing the bone dance with the new guy while the XDH was still in the picture.

Wouldn't matter to me if she is already with someone new and planning a future with them or not. Fact is it's a party - I'm not there to sympathize or be all bummed out listening to whiners/complainers. I'm at a party to have fun and get free liquor. If Larla/Laura starts rambling her sob story I'm not gonna sit there and entertain her I'm getting up and going to another area where smiles and laughter and drinks are abound.

You are the ex who is being "trashed". Stop being butthurt. Stop caring what she says and does. Get over it, move on.

Lots of complex and confusing feelings in those situations. If you haven't been in that situation, don't judge, and don't engage. Slide past.

She’s miserable and pity.

She obviously hasn’t moved on from her ex yet.

If Larla still wants to take up party time trashing her ex, she's not blissfully happy.

+1 get on board with the names, lady!

Laura has no business being with someone new f she is still trashing her ex to people. Shouldn't even be an issue if she truly is happy. Sounds like this new guy of hers is being used.

Laura is keen to trash her ex at a party last weekend to anyone who will listen. They were married for 14 years and have two kids. They separated offically 5
months ago and Laura is now in love with another man who she was blissfully happy with the day before. Would you tibk it's a bit much to expect sympathy when she is already with someone new and planning a future with them?
