I think it’s fine. As long as you’re Russian.

I like it and think it's a nice nickname. I certainly think of it more as a "boy" name FWIW and wouldn't assume a Sasha was a girl.

If you're Russian, yes. If you aren't, no.

It's a common nickname for Alexander in Russia.

There are a few known male Sashas:
Tennis professional (top 5 player, youngest player in the top-10 and known world-wide) Alexander Zverev goes by Sasha.
Composer Sasha Argov
Actor Sasha Mitchell (Kickboxer movies, Dallas TV, Step by Step TV)
Sascha K of the techno-rock band KMFDM is an Alexander

There are many soccer players around the world that are Alexanders that go by Sasha.'

And many, many more. There are just a few that I found on the Wikipedia page for 'Sasha', but there are many more.

I don’t get why you just don’t name him Sasha.

I would think either you are Russian or your child is a girl.

I think that using Sasha as a nickname for Alexander is weird absent an ethnic connection to that nickname.

We like the name Alexander, but not Alex or Zander as nicknames. What do you all think of Sasha, and especially how feminized has it become? I don't mind a unisex name, which is how I perceive it, but wanted the consensus on whether people will assume it's a girl's name. Thanks!
