Yes, and was going to also suggest Colonial Village, since houses tend to be larger on that side of 16th.

The only box SP/CV doesn’t really tick is “walkable to god local restaurants.” SP is walkable to a few things on Georgia, East-West Hwy, etc., and CV is walkable to a few shops/restaurants on Grubb Rd. Walter Reed will hopefully change that, but that’s years away.

We are in SP and walk to quite a lot in SS. Our favorite is Urban Butcher and new Brewery (Astro Lab) next door. We are about 0.5 from there.

1.5 will definitely get you what you want, at least in NWDC.

We're in Crestwood which I love, and hits all the points you mention except schools. People here do a mix of private, charter, and the in-bound elementary which aren't that bad.

Where is the job in md and where is the job in dc?

If you only need 3 bedrooms, 1.5 should get you something walkable to Bethesda, FH, or Tenley, as long as you consider a reasonable range walkable.

The details-

Max budget 1.5
One works downtown and one in MD, so we need to be by the metro or a bus that goes downtown
Young kids so want good schools
At least three bedrooms
Want to be able to walk to some stuff (not just a crappy Starbucks, but good local restaurants)
Prefer racial diversity, and nothing really snobby
No Virginia since one person works in MD

My thinking is that any areas near the metro for three bedrooms would be out of our price range, and we definitely don’t want to be switching bus lines. Are there any neighborhoods we should consider?
