I used a 6s for years without issue, and my hands are on the smaller side. I just bought a new phone because I got tired of the performance of my 6s, and went to the Apple store to try out a bunch of phones to check sizes. The upside of the newer phones is they’re a lot thinner, so even though they’re wider, the lack of thickness helps with holding them. The XR was too big for me to manage one-handed as were anything Plus/Max, but the other models were workable.

The 8 is the same size as the 6. Just replaced and use the same case. Just the regular 8, not X or S or any of that complication.

OP here - these are useful comments, thanks! I searched DCum, and when the 6 came out years ago, there were lots of complaints about it being too large, dropping it, going back to the 5 etc. So perhaps people have just gotten used to it...

OP, just get a pop socket. Makes it easier to use with one hand. Otherwise pick from one that’s available. Clearly not many people are as bothered by it because if they were phones would be smaller.

Do people with smaller hands (well, mine are probably average for a woman) just commit to using both of their hands when texting or searching the web? Do you drop your large phone more frequently?

I have very small hands and I just use both hands when using my phone. I would much rather use both hands with a large screen than have the ability to use one hand but have to contend with a tiny screen.

Get a 6. Refurbished if necessary.

I use An 8. I got used to it super fast and use it five with one hand.

That’s the reason I bought an iPhone 6 two months ago. The store said they were about to stop carrying it.

Nobody makes small phones anymore.

If you google, they still make it.

I know, but Apple doesn't sell the SE anymore, and I don't want a pre-owned one...

The SE is the 5 replacement. That is what I upgraded to. Apple does not think that we should be allowed small phones. Its several years old.
