The only possible risk is if this cycle does not work AND you want to start another treatment right away AND your period starts early (unlikely if using progesterone) AND you're still out of town on your next day 3. Then you'd have to wait another cycle to start treatment again. Not likely IMO. I say travel.

I traveled after my IUI (not with Shady Grove). I did the progesterone suppositories -- so easy. I ended up taking a home pregnancy test 11 dpo and got a faint positive, which increased through the week. I was several days late to get my beta but getting a blood test "on time" obviously doesn't affect the viability of the pregnancy. I'm now 21 weeks.

I did an IUI at SGF this past summer and there was no monitoring after the IUI. You should be totally fine to travel without interrupting treatment (if you are doing progesterone it is annoying as PP said but totally manageable).

I strongly recommend doing what you can to live your life while going through fertility treatments. I personally am so glad I skipped a treatment cycle for a trip to Vegas - so worth it.

I had to use progesterone suppositories after my IUIs. Have you used them, op? I think it probably depends on the person, but while traveling would be fine, I wouldn't have enjoyed a beach vacation in a swimsuit while on the suppositories. For me, they were waxy and greasy and leaked so I had to use a panty liner.

Otherwise, during my 2ww(s) I just went about my life like nothing unusual was going on. You should be fine to travel.

I went to Puerto Rico after my IVF. My SGf nurse gave me flak about doing all my betas in PR at a LabCorp, but I was pregnant and the trip was planned well before we knew the IVF schedule. SGF took over my monitoring when I got back.

Please, go travel. Enjoy. If for some reason you do not end up pregnant, it will have nothing to do with traveling.

Good luck to you.

I’m looking over the SGF information about the IUI protocol. Is it ok to travel after IUI? I’m a little confused if they are saying not to travel between day 11 and IUI or all the way up to day 17 after ugh trigger. Thanks!
