Nobody has to trump anyone else. OP is perfectly welcome to lay down too, but prefers to play martyr. I’m sure the kids have plenty of new things to keep them busy. Order delivery. The End.

Sorry, OP. Your kids won’t care about a special dinner so get delivery if you can or else something easy, and they can watch movies while you rest. Back pain is worse than most illnesses, but being sick on Xmas duty sucks!

All crawl into bed with Daddy and watch a Christmas movie.

I know how you feel, OP. Can you spend some of the more frustrating moments planning some nice time for yourself? What would you really like to be doing to relax ? Make a plan for when and how you can make it happen. Give yourself something. To look forward to. Good luck!

That’s ridiculous. Order chinese food or pizza and set kids up with an iPad move or whatever in bed with Dad.

Its your holiday, you don't get he has no meaning or attachment and its no fun for him. Same in our house. I do it to make my husband happy but I don't celebrate and its no way fun. Order pizza for dinner and give the kids electronics so both of you can rest. Feel better.

You do. Move on. Throw spaghetti in a pot. Done.

Not sure what there is to be mad about. Both of you are hurt/sick so just relax and enjoy family time. Nothing needs to be done.

This. What’s to be mad at? Are you supposed to stack cinderblocks today or something?

Help me not be mad. I'm sick as a dog, hoping to relax a little more than usual on Christmas. I barrelled through the presents this morning, trying to keep it together, but I asked/sort of begged my husband to help out more today than he normally does because I'm just not feeling well. I usually "handle" Christmas because he didn't grow up celebrating it.

And he just threw his back out. He's holed up in the bedroom.

I logically know I can't be mad at him, but I'm so mad at the situation.

Sigh....
