I literally only buy lobster from a lobsterman or from this place near where my family lives in Maine, otherwise I don't eat it. I don't think it's even snobbery, it's just cultural practice. But if I was going to try frozen lobster, I'd get it wherever and test it out.

I was once told that Walmart’s source for meat was the same as the source for a Wegmans. I have no solid proof of it but the person worked in the industry. I’m not too proud to buy things front walmart.

I'm looking on the website and in the pictures it is clear the lobster tails are all sourced from the USA. It's clearly labelled. You should be fine.

Yes. But my DH works for Walmart. It’s always interesting to me when I hear the sources of things, and read labeled, etc. in other stores.

If you only ever buy free range, grass fed, organic and locally sourced meat, it’s probably not for you. That bibeing nog said, yiu may be surprised to find out where everyone else’s comes from, at triple the cost.

I saw that Safeway had lobster tails on sale for $5.99. What is walmart charging? I would want to make sure they aren't from China. You could call and ask the store where they are from. There was an article awhile ago about how unhealthy the seafood is from China that stores are selling...something about the chemicals in the water.

For sides, you could serve corn on the cob (get frozen if you can't find fresh), salt and vinegar chips or fries, coleslaw, warm rolls and that should do. Some sort of berry cobbler would make it a perfect New England treat.

I know, I know but hear me out. Thinking of making lobster thermidor for Christmas Day and Walmart has reasonably priced lobster tails (at least online) and the reviews are pretty good. Since the lobster meat will be gussied up it's probably okay if it's not the softest, most amazing lobster meat ever (at least that's what I'm telling myself). We are not fancy and are not snobs but obviously don't want anything rank. Talk me into or out of this plan.
