PLUS: of course! Teachers should be able to take personal days. I am a parent who happens to be a physician and I can assure you that people with important roles also need personal/ vacation days off from work.

Just like no one should see any identifying information about individual teachers, at the aggregate level schools with high teacher absenteeism may have issues of concern to families, particularly schools with data point outliers.
No offense to substitute teachers (which has to rank as one of the most challenging jobs imaginable), but by MS a sub day is basically a period off where little if any learning occurs for any students other than those most independent learners.
