So I interpret your post to be saying that the current curriculum is accelerated, but weak? So, a new Algebra curriculum would be more challenging/enriched by comparison?

No, that's the standard path. Geometry in 8th is accelerated.

I reviewed some of the materials online the other week, and there was talk about small-group differentiation, but when push came to shove in the ELA curriculum it looked like in those curriculums that provided leveled reading books, the selection of titles at the high end were lacking. I couldn't tell about the math, but it seemed like they weren't aiming toward 8th grade Algebra at all.
Does anyone have any idea how this will work? New curriculum being introduced along side current acceleration/enrichment with ELC and Compact math? Or will they scrap the current enrichment/accelleration and set the kids back like they did with 2.0?
