What state? In VA, she will go to jail.

As for punishment, if it were my DD, 1) revoke consent for her driving (no driving until 18). 2) she can not drive family assets.

This is not a minor offense. It is hard to go that fast.

Until after her first semester in college. She has proven she can't handle it until she is older and can pay her car insurance herself.

Wow. I don't know if I'd give the car back at all. She could've killed someone or herself. At 17, I lost two friends in two separate accidents that were the result of others' negligence. I'm normally not the soapbox type, but this hits close to home.
