We expect that Perry Street location will be open next year. However, the intention is to move the entire school to Kingsbury campus in upper 14th street if not next year then in 2020. But this is not yet finalized (see many many threads on this).
Basically, if you'd only attend the Perry St. location, then there is no point in doing the lottery; if you might be flexible, do the lottery.
This is old and bad information.
It is almost impossible that Kingsbury will ever happen.

We initially got into SD, but MO is blocks from our house, so I called the day we were accepted and asked if a move might be a possibility. We've been there ever since. We also have friends who moved from MO to SD and vice versa. Apply and ask. If you get an option that doesn't work, the nice thing is that they have their own lottery, and you can still take your 1st choice from the regular lottery.
It honestly depends on when you get in as to whether the administration can switch your campus. If you don't get in immediately and are called off of the waitlist, the closer to the school start date, the less likely they can accommodate a request to switch. This happened to us - we got in at SD, but live very close to MO. We requested the switch, but because we got in two weeks before school started, they couldn't make the switch happen.

But aren’t you selecting the campus you want at the time of the lottery?
