If it's two women the best you can hope for is a nice conversation but that beats eating alone. Since it's lunch you can't expect much more than that. If it's 7pm your odds are better but it's hard to divide and conquer.

Just last Tuesday my wife and I (both early 60's) were sitting at a bar having a quick bite before going to see a movie. There was a guy in his early 70's sitting next to her so she starts chatting him up because she always feels sorry about guys sitting at a bar alone. After about 10 minutes of her not even looking at me I wander off to the other side of the bar and start to chat with two attractive women in their mid 50's. After about another ten minutes my wife turns around and discovers I'm not there. She's looking all around until she sees me and the two women waving at her. They both gave me a hug and then I went back to my bar stool. It made my day!

I'm a 60 year old guy. Sometimes I'll have lunch at a bar in a DC restaurant. While I'm there one or two older women (55 or so -- not that attractive but neither am I) will sit a few seats away had have one or two beers or drinks, that's it, and then leave without eating. Do you think they may be waiting for me to approach them for some possible action?
