Not to mention the increasingly fishy stuff going on in state contracts. Why is Maryland paying for new software development for software it already has? So Hogan’s buddy can get a state contract.

Not likely. I suppose if the Democrats had a really poor nominee (ala Jealous), but otherwise I would expect MD to stay blue. You probably wouldn't have people crying into their pillows if Hogan won, but most Marylanders will still vote Dem.
Imagine how wonderful it would be to have an election where both candidates were decent, and while you have your preference, you don't sink into deep despair if the other guy wins.

Exactly. People always blame Hillary for Trump winning, but the bigger truth that people forget is that Republicans elected him over 16 candidates and at least two of these candidates would have made good presidents - Bush and Kasich. I am an independent who was for McCain until he got Sarah Palin on the ticket, before I voted for Obama.

I think he's doing a great job and I would certainly vote for him, but there is no way Maryland would turn red. Not, MoCo, PG & Baltimore.
Also, I don't think he would win a general R election, he's not far Right enough to win. He's too normal. Which is a shame because hands down he would be better than Trump.

No, I don't think Hogan will veer rightward in his second term, simply because of Democrats in Annapolis. His position on climate change and presence in the national Climate Alliance suggests that he may not be the scary right winger that pro-Jealous Democrats try to make him out to be. I think he's an honest pro-business guy who just wants to watch out for our pocketbooks.

No. And I am an independent who voted for Hogan and who also voted for Marc Ehrlich.
Maryland wants balance, the country needs balance. Right now, Republicans have perverted some of our institutions so badly that we need total control by Democrats to just reverse everything Trump has done, as well as put some iron-clad rules around such corruption.
After that, we should vote for centerists and always make sure that the no one party has total control.
